This course taught how to set up a start-up business and gave some hands on experience in setting one up. Our startup, Chaperonage, sold perfumes and hand sanitizers, which were in demand during the start of the pandemic in March 2020. In total, we made sales that resulted in a profit of RM150.
Method
We set up an entrepreneur profile, made NABC pitching videos, used mindmaps to set up a business, created a business model canvas, dropshipping and learned business, financial, marketing and production planning. We also learned soft skills such as coming up with a convincing sales pitch and closing sales. At the end of the course, we prepared a report on our sales.
Application
Using the knowledge taught from this course, I will be able to set up a startup or business as I have gained hands-on experience. I will also be able to assist in starting a business and provide analysis and advice. In conjunction with my major, I believe this course will help me in opening a pathway to a career in engineering sales due to the soft skills and knowledge developed and practiced.

Description
This course taught how to listen to, speak, read and write elementary Bahasa Melayu. We learned the alphabet and basic vocabulary for numbers, greetings, family, friends, fruits, vegetables, manners, songs, traditions and culture.
Method
We had two quizzes on basic spelling and vocabulary, three video essays on topics such as our lives and families, a scary story and our hobbies (mine was exercise).
Application
Using the knowledge taught from this course, I will be able to communicate in Bahasa Melayu which will be useful for my 4 year stay at UTM and may be useful for securing internships and jobs and aid communicating with co-workers.

Description
This course taught how to carry out and understand engineering measurements. We were taught the concepts of two peg test, levelling, errors, rise and fall and HPC method, closed loop traverse, link traverse, detail survey, contouring, horizontal, transition and vertical road curves and area and volume earthwork calculations.
Method
There were four assessments for each topic of surveying done via calculations and input on an Excel sheet and a final assessment for all topics. We also had two tests and a final quiz. Before the pandemic, we had practical experience handling a levelling station and theodolite and performed peg tests and levelling survey practically while the other methods were taught online.
Application
Using the knowledge taught from this course, I was able to perform practical applications of engineering surveying during my survey camp and will be able to carry out tasks as a land quantity surveyor for land measurement projects and landfill projects.

Description
This course taught the basics of geotechnical engineering. We learned the basics of soil mechanics, quantities, equations, soil composition; soil classification, systems (USCS & AASTHO) and parameters; soil and field compaction and modification, soil water and soil shear strength. We learned basic concepts such as USCS & AASTHO classification and Mohr's circle.
Method
We had two assessment tests via Quizziz and four assignments based on soil classification, soil water, soil shear strength and compaction. We also had a practical session where we identified the characteristics of different kinds of soils and classified them. We also prepared a project on soil compaction and slope design.
Application
Using the knowledge from this course, I should be able to set my foot into geotechnical engineering and know the basics for more advanced courses such as Geotechnics 1 and Geotechnics 2.

Description
This course taught how the basics of AutoCAD software and how to use AutoCAD software to design abstract objects, earthwork for foundations and reinforced concrete design for houses.
Method
Physical classes were held in a state-of-the-art computer lab equipped with AutoCAD 2020. There were two live tests and 6 assignments, including one live interview discussing the methodology and principles of our earthwork and reinforced concrete drawings.
Application
I learned AutoCAD and used it during my survey camp projects, fluid mechanics project to design survey, earthwork and dams. This is one of the most important courses for a civil engineer.

This co-curricular course taught how to arrange a program that is targeted for today's youth so that we could develop the mental health and well-being of students aged 18-30 in UTM.
Method
We arranged a webinar event, "Yoga Camp", where I was selected as the vice director and instructor for the event, as I had previous knowledge in yoga obtained by participating in yoga courses at Indira Gandhi Cultural Center, Dhaka. I assisted in directing the event, drafting and submitting the proposal to HEP UTM, approving multimedia posters and publicity post and the general planning and flow of the event. I also worked on the event analysis and post-mortem report and according to the Google Form responses and report, the event was highly successful.

Using the knowledge taught in this course, I was given the opportunity to lead and direct an event and perform my yoga skills to a crowd of 100+ participants, which was useful in becoming the Vice President of UNESCO Club UTM.

Description
The objective of the course was to simulate the planning and designing of a land reclamation project online due to the unfortunate circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, giving much more practical experience and applications of the knowledge learned from SEAA1023 Engineering Surveying. As such, to develop the landfill, traversing, levelling, topographic surveying, setting out and as-built surveying, link traversing and earthwork volume estimation plans were needed to be planned, designed, calculated and sketched and our plans were meant to be presented as slides and presented in a recording.

Using the knowledge taught in this course, I learned how to coordinate a team and get a general idea on how to apply the knowledge I learnt from engineering surveying and the details of a land reclamation project from the traversing, leveling, detailed topographic surveying and contour planning, setting out, as-built surveying, link traversing and earthwork estimation and the planning, designing, calculating and sketching of each step.

This course taught what materials and properties are used in construction projects in great detail, such as cement, concrete, types and constituents of concrete, timber, brick and mortar, steel, glass, PVC and other materials.

Two tests and a final assessment were taken. Three assignments were given - an article regarding construction material problems, a poster presenting a hi-tech construction material and hosting a talk show about common concrete problems in housing.

This course taught intermediate mechanics especially focusing on materials such as steel. It focused on aspects ranging from stress, strain and shear, shear force diagrams and bending moment diagrams, plane and space truss design and analysis using joint, virtual work and force resolution methods (and zero force members), deflection calculations using Macaulay's theorem, column buckling and torsion.

This course taught basic MATLAB skills and its applications in civil engineering, such as drawing a program flowchart, writing a pseudocode and a code, plotting, scripting, matrix operations, relational and logical operators, selective, sequential and repetitive structures, commands such as IF, FOR, ELSE, INPUT, FORMAT and creating and manipulating User Defined Functions.

Description
This course taught a wastewater treatment plant works using the concepts of microbiology, fluid mechanics, hydrology and civil engineering. Water demand was measured using Population Equivalent, so this was the sewage input or influent. Equations and mathematical formulas used to measure the biological and biochemical oxygen demand and efficiency were taught as to correlate with the efficiency of a sewage treatment plant. Weir loading, primary and secondary clarifiers, aeration lagoons, trickling filters and ponds were taught as components of a plant. Effluent is the output of a plant and where it went was also taught.
Method
Two tests and a final examination were conducted. Three industrial talk sessions were held regarding how a sewage treatment plant operates and a project on how a sewage treatment plant work was given. Homework assignments were also given to test our skills on a weekly basis.
Applications
Using the knowledge taught in this course, I was able to understand how a sewage treatment plant works, how much wastewater can a plant process and how we could improve on it. This course would help me kickstart my career as a hydrological engineer in the field of wastewater and sewage processing, a highly lucrative field.

I have attempted to use this in a project that uses AI models to detect objects and determine turning traffic density to design a small junction in order to facilitate students controlling traffic during the July Uprising in Bangladesh.

Description: This was a master's level course I had selected as an elective. This course taught us the fundamentals of earthquake and wind engineering. We were taught about mode shapes of a building undergoing vibration forces and the wind load design of tall buildings.
Method: One class test on earthquake engineering and another class test on wind engineering was conducted. In the end, we had to use OpenCees for multi-modal modelling of low, medium and hgih rise buildings. I was the only one who managed to do it. A final exam was taken.

SEAA3313 - Reinforced Concrete Design is a comprehensive course that delves into the principles and techniques of designing reinforced concrete structures. This course equips students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for designing safe and structurally sound reinforced concrete elements and systems. Method
Two tests and a final examination of the most stringent grading curves and utmost difficulty were carried out to test our knowledge. We also had to Reinforced Concrete Column and Footing Design of a 2-storey preschool for our project and solve a problem for each topic of the designs of staircases, braced and unbraced frames, columns, footings, foundations and retaining walls as assignments.
